cBlock

cBlock is a Lotus Notes based product designed to block and suppress unwanted mail and SPAM leveraging Challenge and Response processes. cBlock users maintain White Lists (approved senders), Black Lists (rejected/blocked senders) and the Challenge/Response verification process within their Lotus Notes/Domino email. This allows the cBlock user to maintain their own Black/White-lists ensuring that they are only receiving the email messages they wish to receive.

cBlock integrates with your Domino/Lotus Notes mail template - allowing you real-time list statistics, and instant access to your configuration. No loading of additional applications required!

While cBlock offers it's user the ability to manually control it's various settings, this solution is an evolving solution: the ability to pre-White List users found in your Personal Address Book or your CRM solution is a simple one-time configuration setting! cBlock ensures that you can spend your time managing your deliverables - not your Inbox!

So what are these Lists again?

Creating your White List

These are approved senders whose email you want to receive immediately. White lists can be populated from your local name and address book or added individually.

Creating your Black List

Email from these senders will be automatically deleted, without going through the challenge and response process.

Unknown senders

These senders will receive a challenge email in your name from cBlock, asking them to verify themselves as legitimate senders. Once validated, their original email will be delivered. If you do not want to receive any more emails from this sender, you can designate them as Black Listed and all emails from this unknown sender will be automatically deleted.

So how does it work?

Simply put - theprez@whitehouse.gov will send you an email.

If theprez@whitehouse.gov is not currently on your White List, an email is sent immediately back to theprez@whitehouse.gov, asking them to verify their email address. (Most mail-based virus attacks falsify the sending email address, in this case theprez@whitehouse.gov, in order to mask the identity of the infected sender!)

Once theprez@whitehouse.gov has verified their email address by clicking on the link (See example verification message above) you will receive a notification that theprez@whitehouse.gov is attempting to email you.

At this time, you can choose to accept the email, accept the email and White List theprez@whitehouse.gov, deny the email, or deny the email and Black List theprez@whitehouse.gov
